Welcome to Eritrea-Online!       English   German Version

Latest Update: February 2008

The literature database on this website currently contains references to about 1100 monographs, essays, newspaper articles and official documents on Eritrea and the Horn of Africa. Most of the entries can be located in the fields of political and social sciences, history and cultural studies. They were collected in the early 1990s as part of a political science research project on Eritrea. Since then the database has been continually, though not systematically, expanded. This is a purely private, non-commercial and non-partisan initiative. It is designed for people who are interested in Eritrea, doing research work on the country, or are engaged in the politics of developing countries.

We hope that this website will encourage other people with an interest in Eritrea to collaborate with us and help us to update this online database.
  • If you have already done literature research on Eritrea and consider adding your data to this literature database, please contact us for further information. Your collaboration is greatly appreciated!

  • Please mail us if you find an interesting article about Eritrea. Especially articles in regional daily newspapers generally do not make it into bibliographies. If you send us a reference, please make sure the information is complete with author, title, publication, issue, page number. We will then be glad to include the title(s) in this database.

  • Suggestions or criticism to improve this service are welcome!
